CAL Bookstore Program The CAL Bookstore Program is a program for independent book stores. Its purpose is to reward bookstores who help sell our titles. Participation is limited to 4 bookstores in each state. Chains are not eligible. TERMS Shipping is $3.25 first book, plus .65 each additional. Dan River Press, Northwoods Press and Century Press books may be combined for lowest shipping charges. Any unsold copies that can be returned in new condition receive 100% credit. Write before returning anything. Return period is after 6 months, but within 12 months. As a CAL Bookstore we will contribute to your prosperity with some local advertising (depending on income you generate for us) and we will feature your store whenever possible on direct mail pieces. We will provide posters, and easy re-ordering for sell outs. We will encourage and help you to become the writer's bookstore in your area, with signings, readings and other promotional things that are appropriate, and desired, for your operation. At this time, we are producing 5 or 6 titles per year. We invite all bookstores to stock the annual Dan River Anthology whether or not they want to become a CAL bookstore. It sells! We guarantee a sell out for up to six copies. If six copies don't sell before the next issue comes out, you may trade them in at your cost for the new issue. CAL bookstores, of course, are covered under the return priviledge above. But for other bookstores, this is a special offer. At this time we will only guarantee the sale of six copies.
